10 Things To Do with Kids at Grand Floridian Disney World Resort
Here are our top 10 favorite things to do at the Grand Floridian Resort with kids that we absolutely love and think you will too!
1. Pool Time Fun
The pools at the Grand Floridian are a splash hit with my kids. We especially love the Alice in Wonderland themed water play area. Watching them slide and play in the Mad Hatter’s hat is a joy. Plus, the zero-entry pool is perfect for little ones.
2. Movies Under the Stars
Cozying up for an outdoor movie on the resort lawn is a family favorite. We bring our blankets and cuddle up to watch Disney classics under the open sky. It’s a magical way to end the day.
3. Campfire Activities, Lawn Games and More
Roasting marshmallows and telling stories around the campfire bring us all together. My kids really enjoy making s’mores and singing along to campfire songs with new friends.
When we visit the Grand Floridian Resort at Disney World, one of our favorite activities is playing croquet on the beautifully manicured lawns. It’s a fantastic way to spend time together as a family, enjoying the gorgeous Florida weather and the resort’s stunning surroundings. I love these little moments of leisure and laughter, and it’s a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the parks.
4. Character Dining at 1900 Park Fare
Dining with Disney characters is an unforgettable experience. We love the delicious food and the chance to meet some of our favorite characters in person. Oh, and those smiles and hugs are priceless!
5. Snap Pics Around the Resort
There are so many Instagrammable spots to take pics at Grand Floridian, starting with the entrance. My boys always get excited when we pull-up to the valet. The bell hops are legendary, many have been with the GF family for years and years.
Take a stroll around the gardens and you’ll find lots of picturesque places, from the Mary Poppins topiary art to the beautiful fountains and courtyards. Often there are Disney PhotoPass spots where you can take a photo with Cinderella’s glass slipper in the main lobby area.
6. Rent a Motorized Boat
Cruising around the Seven Seas Lagoon in a rented motorized boat is a blast. My kids feel like captains steering our little ship, and the views of the Magic Kingdom are just spectacular.
7. Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room
Enjoying a fancy afternoon tea is a delightful treat. With kid-friendly tea options and delicious pastries, it’s a fun way to feel extra special and a bit grown-up.
8. Fishing Excursions
Setting out on a catch-and-release fishing excursion is a great way to spend the morning. My family loves learning the basics of fishing and trying to catch the big one. It’s a peaceful break from the park’s excitement.
9. Watch the Fireworks from the Beach
The resort’s beach offers a fantastic view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. We love grabbing a spot on the sand, listening to the music piped in from the park, and watching the sky light up. It’s truly magical.
10. Pin Trading
We love pin trading at Disney World! It’s a great way to pass the time in between rides, and an exciting tradition that kids love for collecting Disney souvenirs. There are Disney Pin trading posts at the check-in desk at GF and also at the concierge desk outside Park Fare by the gift shop.
