Amusement parks in North Carolina we love! NC isn’t just about beautiful mountains and beaches; it’s also a haven for thrill-seekers and families looking for a day packed with fun and laughter. My family and I have a tradition of visiting amusement parks together, and lucky for us, North Carolina has some of the best.
Here are our favorite amusement parks in the state that we absolutely love and think you will too!
10 Amusement Parks in North Carolina for Adventure Seekers
Carowinds
Straddling the line between North Carolina and South Carolina, Carowinds is a thrill-seeker’s dream. We adore the Fury 325, one of the world’s tallest and fastest giga coasters. But it’s not all about thrills; there’s plenty for the little ones too, including the PEANUTS-themed Planet Snoopy.
Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe
When the North Carolina heat cranks up, we head to Wet ‘n Wild in Greensboro. With over 36 water rides and attractions, it’s the perfect spot to cool down. My kids can’t get enough of the Daredevil Drop, and I really enjoy floating along the Lazy River.
Tweetsie Railroad
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Tweetsie Railroad is a wild west-themed park that’s ideal for families. We love hopping aboard the historic steam train for a scenic ride and watching the live entertainment. The cowboy shootouts are a hit with my little deputies.
Santa’s Land
Tucked away in Cherokee, Santa’s Land is like stepping into a Christmas wonderland, no matter the season. The Rudicoaster and Santa’s Express Train are favorites for us. And, of course, visiting Santa in July is always a special treat.
Frankie’s Fun Park
With locations in Raleigh, Huntersville, and Greenville, Frankie’s is a blast for a day of family fun. From go-karts to bumper boats and a massive arcade, there’s something for everyone. We really like challenging each other to a round of mini-golf.
Jungle Rapids Family Fun Park
Located in Wilmington, this park offers a mix of water attractions and dry fun. My family loves splashing in the wave pool and taking turns on the Grand Prix go-karts. It’s a great spot to unwind after a day at the beach.
Adventure Landing
This amusement park in Raleigh is filled with excitement, offering mini-golf, laser tag, and an arcade. The batting cages are a hit with my family, and we always end our visit with some ice cream from the snack bar.
Galaxy Fun Park
Galaxy Fun Park in Raleigh takes family fun to another level with its indoor offerings. We’re fans of the trampoline park and laser tag, but the indoor go-karts are where we really let loose and have a blast.
Lake Lure Adventure Company
While not your traditional amusement park, Lake Lure Adventure Company offers thrilling water sports and activities. We love trying out wakeboarding and water skiing on the beautiful lake. It’s a different kind of thrill but just as memorable.
Pisgah Forest Gem Mine & Adventure Park
Another unique experience, this park in Pisgah Forest lets us dig for gems and explore nature’s beauty. The kids adore finding treasures, and the zip lines add an extra layer of adventure to our visit.
Exploring North Carolina’s amusement parks has become a beloved tradition for my family, offering a perfect blend of thrills, laughs, and unforgettable moments. Whether we’re screaming at the top of a roller coaster, competing in mini-golf, or cooling off in a water park, these places hold a special spot in our hearts.
